Overview

This role is in the Slingshot Media Department, covering paid search (SEM) and also paid social media ad campaigns.* Primary responsibilities will center around creating strategies, actively setting up campaigns, on-going optimization, budget pacing, and handling reporting via each partner’s direct user interface (i.e., Google Ads, Bing Ads) for a multitude of clients, projects, and campaigns.

Our goal with every client is to demonstrate that digital marketing is having a real business impact. We expect you to use every tool at your disposal, e.g. ad creative, keywords, bidding/budget optimization, user experience, ad targeting, and anything else you can think of to further this goal.

Advanced knowledge in Google Ads is an absolute must, with current Google Ads Search Certified credentials required.

*Please note this is not an SEO role, nor a social media community management “posting” role, however, this “paid media” position will focus on SEM, paid social management, and reporting and analytics for both. It is quantitative, strategic, and tactical in nature; this is not a content or creative role.

Job Responsibilities

  • Understand and support clients’ business goals.
  • Research, design, and implement successful SEM and paid social campaigns.
  • Build strong relationships with clients and effectively communicate strategy, opportunities, and results with stakeholders.
  • Provide detailed reporting of work activities, performance metrics, behavioral data, and market trends.
  • Highly proficient in Excel - adept with pivot tables, vlookups, and formula building for text manipulation and data analysis.
  • Proficient in Google Analytics including initial setup, troubleshooting, custom segments, and Google Ads linking.
  • Knowledge of HTML5/CSS and JavaScript or other coding basics is a plus.
  • Aptitude for analytical and quantitative reasoning; ability to identify business questions and conduct data analyses in order to find answers.
  • Excellent organizational and project management skills.
  • Demonstrated aptitude for understanding consumer behavior.
  • Ability to prioritize projects, pay attention to detail, and multi-task.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Function effectively under pressure and maintain a sense of humor.
  • Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
  • Willingness to help wherever needed.

Desired Skills

Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in marketing, advertising, communications, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience managing Google Ads & Bing campaigns, with full responsibility for all aspects of the campaigns.
  • 2+ years of experience with two or more of the following:
    • Website Usability
    • Marketing Analytics
    • Display Media Optimization
    • Social Media Management

Certification Requirements

  • The following certifications are required as noted:

*Red - To be completed within first month of employment at the latest.

  • Demonstrated experience with large campaigns is highly preferred.
